Step 1: Check your firmware version. You can do this in iTunes check the picture below. Make sure you have version 3.1.2. If you don't have that version update to it. If you have version 1 or 2 and you are asked to buy version 3.1.2 follow our guide and learn to upgrade to firmware 3.1.2 for free.

Step 2: Download blackra1n this is what we use to jailbrake your iPod.

Step 3: Plug your iPod into the computer
Step 4: Install blackra1n, double click on the file you downloaded. A window should open up with a button that says "make it ra1n".

Step 5: Click "make it ra1n". Now you iPod will automatically go into restore mode and the jailbrake will run. This will take a minute or two. While its jailbraking you will see the image below. After the jailbraking is done your iPod will load back up.

Step 6: Now that your iPod is loaded up again, go in it and you will see a new app that has the picture below. Click on that app.

Step 7. When you click on the app you will see the screen below. From that screen tap on Cydia and Rock and click install. DO NOT INSTALL ICY.

Step 8. After both Cydia and Rock have been installed go back into the blackra1n app and click "uninstall blackra1n"
